Are you 18 or over? Yup!

Canon: Chobits
Character: Chii
Timeline: Early in episode 3
Personality: For all intents and purposes, Chii is innocent and aware much like a newborn kitten. Easy to cling, and a fast learner to the environment around. Concepts are foreign to her, and most of the ways the world works (and basics of common sense,) would have to be taught. By default, her actions are always innocent and good-willed. She would do what makes another happy, if they are 'close' to her. However, you'd have to explain what 'close' and many other terms mean among society.

With her learning software, there is another noticeable quirk that is apparent from the beginning. It might as well be called copy-cat syndrome, as expressions and reactions to many situations are copied as closely as she can see. What is seen on television and in books (like skin mags,) are imitated at times, though not realizing the intentions of what these actions would typically mean. It's best to describe her, on a whole, is well-intentioned and pure, while lacking any sign of common sense that would be needed in society. It's what appears to be a blank state, to take the surroundings and process it in to the best personality and behavior to display. One which could range anywhere between a pure pacifist, to someone that would use violence in the situations displayed before, though would not understand the reasons why at first. It would entirely depend on the people around her, and the events experienced. This will show itself in her posts as well; as time goes by, more and more personality and introspection will show itself in posts and threading. In the beginning it would show itself as being more about her movements and gestures rather than what's behind them.

Then, there's the other personality; Freya. The older sister that became one, and acts as a guardian of sorts for impressionable Chii. She holds the memories of both hers and, most likely Chii's/Elda's. If Chii is about to be taken advantage of or otherwise in danger, she will take control of the body until safety may be reassured. This older sister has seen such a thing before, and will stop anyone from placing hands where they don't belong, in a less than honorable manner. Everyone has their own form of defensive mechanisms though, right? Anything to keep her from experiencing the same pain and overwhelming emotion that she had faced herself.

Background: The story starts with Persocom inventor, Ichiro Mihara, his wife, and the first Chobi that had been made, named Freya. As Chitose was unable to have children of her own, Ichiro had made Freya with a learning software that allowed them the chance to teach, and raise, the persocom as their actual daughter. The more she learned, however, the more she started to love in more than one way. As time passed, there was a sadness that grew and stressed on Freya's systems. To try and stop this, a second Chobi was built, and named Elda. While it seemed to help at first, the sadness remained. Eventually, when starting to crash, she confessed to Ichiro that, despite being her father, she loved him in a way different from the way she loved her mother. This is when Ichiro declined, saying that her mother was the 'person just for him,' and that he couldn't be hers. The pain was just too much, and to keep from losing Freya, Elda had talked her in to putting her data, and heart, into her body as well.

The strain was so much, that it started to short Elda's own memories. Before being reset, she asked to be placed away from the life to avoid the same fate as Freya. With her memories backed up on a disk by Chitose (done by Chitose,) she had been placed out in a pile of trash. This is because, if someone would accept her for what she was, despite the possibility of being defective (for the reason of being in the trash,) then they might help her reach happiness.

Many had passed by, obviously not wanting a persocom that was defective, and thus went time. Until Hideki Motosuwa had come along. Being a poor guy from the country, who was in Tokyo working and studying to get in to school, had passed by. Seeing this as an opportunity to have a persocom, being one of the only ones in the city that didn't, took the weight of a shut down Chii over to his apartment. Where he thought things would finally start looking up, and getting easier, the mystery that Chii was had only made things complicated. After the difficult task of finding, and actually gathering the courage to press her switch to turn her own, the persocom had turned on with only the ability to move and say 'chii.' Which is exactly what Hideki named her. Upon finding out that she had no data, Shinbo (a friend, and classmate,) had used his mobile laptop, Sumomo, to connect and scan through Chii's system. This causes a short, which led them to be forwarded to Minoru- A young boy that was -the- authority on custom persocoms. After crashing four high-end custom models, and partially crashing a special model, Yuzuki's data, a few things were learned. One was that Chii had very high CPU outputs. The rest was that she does have an OS, because she wouldn't be moving without it otherwise, and that her data is encrypted and protected by a highly advanced firewall.

The other part is that she had a highly advanced Learning software, and Hideki was responsible for teaching her what was needed to be known. The next (?) day, after calculating expenses and about to leave for prep classes, Hideki manages to teach Chii to say 'take care of yourself' when people leave. Chii arrives in Adstringendum when she mistakenly 'learns' that Hideki was what you called things you pointed at, right after Hideki had left.. She was just going to see him off, too.

Abilities/Additional Notes: Persocoms are androids who look just like humans, save for the ears and sometimes size, capable of the same things computers and laptops are. From handling programs, reading email, surfing the internet and holding calls. Most models are also capable of physical tasks not typical. Apart from a setting that brings the unit's weight to a manageable level while active, some may exert superhuman strength, agility, or other features. This all depends on the programs set in the unit, and type. This one unit is a special kind, known as a Chobit. She can connect to a network and other technology, record data, and establish connections with other persocom units indirectly, which keeps them from being aware of this. With one of the most advanced self-learning programs, they are capable of true machine intelligence, compared to following the exact personality programs installed in to the unit. There is a powerful firewall, which was known to short computers and other persocoms, to protect the OS and other data inside. Physically, when powered down, the Chobit may weigh over 200 pounds, reducing to approximately 90 while active. Chii also has some settings that allow some sort of defying of gravity, as seen when lightly jumping up to the top of a telephone pole, and hopping from one high, small point, to another with little effect to the structure's stability. This is most likely an adjustment that lightens the given weight of the unit. They recharge their battery through two methods; One is considered sun-soaking, using solar energy to lessen and reverse the drain. The other, much like computers, mobile phones, and other battery-dependent devices, would require an outlet and ample power source.

Chii herself has a self-defense reaction as well, which has prevented unwanted hands from going near the reset button. This has varied from a bright light and explosion, to controlling the wires connected to her unit in to subduing the violator and some kind of concussive blast. In this time, she is in a daze, and has always went in to a suspended mode for a few days after safety is established. What this really is, is Freya taking over and doing what is necessary.

Other abilities, such as being able to stop other persocoms as they hear a 'familiar voice' (the 'father' of persocoms,) and a program that removed a function in persocoms that allowed them to automatically recognize their owners, aren't really something that would come up most likely. This is the same for the ability to 'connect' to other persocoms indirectly, as there aren't any in the first place.

Sample Journal Post:
Hideki!

[The video is on right at that moment, with a young girl pointing right at the camera. A girl with very long blonde hair and wearing a reddish brown dress with a nautical collar. After a second she looks in one direction, then the other.]

Chiiii?

[The girl kneels down, peering closely at the device.]

Chi? Chi...

Sample RP: (If it's okay, I'm using a sample from her 'original' setting instead of a recently-arrived one to give a more developed personality sample.)

"Hideki said to go straight to work, to not worry manager."

Chii was talking to the cat that seemed highly against getting out of the persocom's way. As it continued to lay on the side walk, she looked from side to side, thinking of an alternative route instead of the reasonable thing, like walking around the feline. Seeing the alley as the only choice to get to the bakery, the blonde girl turned around made the turn in to the narrow section. She had to follow what Hideki said, after all, and stopping wasn't allowed. Because then she wouldn't be going right to the bakery.

Midway through the alley, a high pitched tone rang through the aural sensors that caused her to pause for a few moments. Which wasn't right, causing a small frown to form on her face. "Wasn't supposed to stop."

It would have been common sense to turn back around and go past the cat from before, but common sense was something that Chii lacked right now. Instead, she seemed to have concluded that continuing down the alley was the best choice of actions. The moment one step had crossed the threshold from alley to main street, surroundings had changed. It was dark, similar to when Chii talked to the one who was her Other Self, but her Other Self was not there. There was a door, however, which had caught the girl's attention. "A door?"

Yes, Chii, a door. Doors also meant exits out of strange places, or at least that's how the logic followed, which had Chii turning the knob and going through the doorway.
